Spine dorsali (totale) : 0; Raggi dorsali molli (totale) : 27 - 32; Spine anali: 0; Raggi anali molli: 32 - 37. Body depth 2.8-3.9 x SL. Caudal peduncle depth 15.7-22.6 x SL. Anal fin base 3.4-4.2 x SL. Eye diameter 2.8-3.9 x head length. Same coloration as P. tenuicauda. Same triangular spot in dorsal and V-spot on caudal. Anal with triangular spot.

Affinities: appearance close to P. tenuicauda; difference in number of soft rays.
