Espinas dorsales (total) : 4; Radios blandos dorsales (total) : 8; Espinas anales: 3; Radios blandos anales: 5. Color in life dark green dorsally merging into yellow below; golden or brassy luster on sides and belly; fins colorless or reddish. Short, broad snout with a prominent median protuberance marking posterior limit of the protractile upper lip. 8-9 scales from nape to dorsal; 1.5 scale rows between ventrals and lateral line. Scales large and few in number; lower jaw short and narrow; 4th dorsal spine stout and feebly serrated.
One of the largest of the Lanao carps (Ref. 280).
