Snout gently pointed with lower jaw not elongated; scaled anal-fin base; caudal and pectoral fins rounded (Ref. 40938).
Inhabits river floodplain (Ref. 97357). Bottom spawner, 5-7 months incubation. Is very difficult to maintain in aquarium (Ref. 27139).
