Body shape (shape guide): eel-like.
Adults occur in freshwater and estuarine habitats. Ovoviviparous (Ref. 205). The male carries the eggs in a brood pouch which is found under the tail (Ref. 205). Brood pouch may be developed at 7.85 cm SL.
