Siphateles boraxobius can be distinguished from Siphateles alvordensis by having larger head, concave between eyes, incomplete lateral line, more slender caudal peduncle and usually 13 pectoral rays (Ref. 86798).
Found in Borax Lake, a small, shallow, clear lake fed by hot springs. This is the only fish occurring in the lake (Ref. 86798). An opportunistic omnivore (Ref. 26179).
