Raios dorsais (total) : 8; Raios anais : 9. Has black spot at the base of the anterior dorsal fin ray; dark green back (Ref. 37768); 25-27 gill rakers on first arch (Ref. 37829); 6 branched anal-fin rays (Ref. 12693).
Occurs in lowland rivers. Rarely found in large numbers. Little is known about the biology of this species. Reported to be herbivorous (Ref. 12975). Used to make prahoc along the Tonlé Sap, Cambodia.
