Chaves de identificação | Morfologia | Morfometria
Raios dorsais (total) : 10; Raios anais : 8; Vértebras: 31 - 32. Distinguished from other congeners by having fewer scales on the lateral row (42-50, versus 50-79), 6-7 perforated scales along lateral line (versus 7-23), and 4-5 scales on a transverse row between normal course of the lateral line and the base of pelvic fin (Ref. 38952). Golden body and blue eye in life; lateral line incomplete; without barbel (Ref. 43281).
Body shape (shape guide): elongated.
Occurs in shallow standing water of paddy fields and ditches. It seems to prefer vegetated areas with floating aquatic vegetation as well as flooded terrestrial grasses. Oviparous (Ref. 205). Not seen in the markets (Ref. 12693).
