Adults inhabit silty reefs, with scattered algae, soft and hard corals. Solitary or in groups of up to 5 individuals and remain close to shelter (Ref. 11891). Oviparous, distinct pairing during breeding (Ref. 205). Eggs are demersal and adhere to the substrate (Ref. 205). Males guard and aerate the eggs (Ref. 205).
