Spine dorsali (totale) : 7; Raggi dorsali molli (totale) : 8 - 9; Spine anali: 1; Raggi anali molli: 8 - 9. Characterized by semi-transparent body with pinkish hue; first dorsal fin with a dusky blotch; longitudinal scale series 17-20; predorsal scales extending forward to behind eyes, nape midline included; wide gill opening, reaching to below posterior edge of eye; depth of body at anus 5.5 in SL (Ref. 90102).
Inhabits coastal reef slopes, usually on hard corals to about 30 meters depth. Sometimes found on the mantle of clams and eggs are usually laid on ascidians (Ref. 48637). Found on gorgonians.
