背面の脊椎 (合計) : 16 - 17; 背鰭 (合計) : 9 - 11; 肛門の骨: 3; 臀鰭: 8 - 10; 脊つい: 31. Differs from other species of the genus in the structure of the lower pharyngeal bone, which is somewhat inflated posteriorly, with numerous small bicuspid teeth.
