Spine dorsali (totale) : 0; Spine anali: 0; Raggi anali molli: 16 - 21. Body fairly slender, somewhat compressed. Snout very short, about 1/2 eye diameter; maxilla very short, tip bluntly rounded, reaching only a little beyond hind rim of eye; gill cover canals of panamensis-type. Anal fin moderate, its origin below about middle of dorsal fin base. A silver stripe along flank.
Occurs in middle and upper reaches of rivers. More data needed.
