Espinas dorsales (total) : 5 - 7; Radios blandos dorsales (total) : 13 - 17; Espinas anales: 1; Radios blandos anales: 20 - 25. Ramus of the ascending process of premaxilla with slight rounded elevation representing postmaxillary process. Dorsal edge of opercle with notch but no process above it.
Inhabits surf and waves around rocky headlands and reefs. Nothing is known of the biology of this species (Ref. 9769).
