Dorsale stekels (totaal) : 6; Dorsale zachte stralen (totaal) : 34 - 41; Anale stekels: 1; Anale zachte stralen: 32 - 39; Wervels: 27. Eyes rudimentary but distinct, covered by skin. Mouth oblique. Several short barbels may be present on underside of chin. Pectoral -fin rays free and silk-like. Three anal fin pterygiophores preceding first haemal spine. Cycloid scales embedded on head and body. Caudal fin very long (Ref. 45323).
