Africa: known from affluent rivers of Lake Victoria in Kenya (Ref. 104796) and from the Malawa (Ref. 4903) and Aswa Rivers (Ref. 105002) in Uganda.

Feeds on debris, algae, higher plant material, insects and other organisms (Ref. 12523).
