背鳍的最后鳍条些微地变硬了与比较不有齿在后面的侧边上, 确定地末梢部的部份 (参考文献 27628; [I 认为作家最后意谓了 , 不分枝的鳍条取代最后的鳍条; Gert Boden,2001]). 触须短; 前面的触须不经过鼻孔; 在后部的触须正好经过眼的前面侧边.(参考文献 27628) 背部两侧褐色-银色的色彩, 腹的旁银色的。 浅灰色的黑色或黑色的侧面条纹跳跃从鳃盖到尾鳍; 背鳍、尾鳍与臀鳍是褐色-橘色的, 偶鳍不是色彩.(参考文献 27628)
Found in lakes and rivers. In the Lake Victoria system it appears in rivers and lake-side streams during rains, and in dry season along shores of the lake (adults) or in floodwater pools (juveniles) (Ref. 104796). Anadromous (Ref. 104796). Likely to spawn twice a year; floodwater pools appear to be spawning grounds; breeding may also occur among grasses at river edges (Ref. 104796).
