Issue
Barbus alluaudi is possibly an intergeneric hybrid between the cyprinid species Barbus somereni and Varicorhinus ruwenzorii (Ref. 114315); but both could later be considered as Labeobarbus species (Ref. 108777).

Africa: only known by the holotype from Lake Luhondo in Rwanda (Ref. 27626, 46152, 83445). Should be considered as extinct after introduction of tilapia and some Haplochromis in Lake Luhondo (Ref. 35818).
