Etymology: Bathyaethiops: Greek, bathys = deep + Greek, Aethiopia, an African country (Ref. 45335).
Eponymy: Dr Raymond Van Breuseghem was a mycologist at the Belgian Institute of Tropical Medicine, Antwerp. He collected the holotype. (Ref. 128868), visit book page.
