The head profile is slightly concave dorsally; snout is U-shaped from above, it is truncate, rather deep, and fleshy (Ref. 81635). The fleshy chin appendage is slightly enlarged (Ref. 81635). The colour is dark chocolate-brown overall, including the fin rays (Ref. 81635).
It inhabits deep channels in slow-moving water (Ref. 81635). Electric organ discharge (EOD) lasts 8 ms (Ref. 10460).
