Biologia     Glossario (es. epibenthic)

Adults inhabit rocky pools and slow-flowing sections of streams. Also found congregating at the base of small waterfalls (Ref. 44894). Feed partly on small prawns and juvenile fishes (Ref. 5259, 44894), but is basically an omnivore. Eggs are guarded and fanned by the male parent (Ref. 205). Aquarium conditions: pH=7.2, H=8, 25°C water temperature, live food, egg layer, peaceful community fish, requires rock and plant cover (Ref. 6398).
