Biology     Glossary (e.g. epibenthic)

Occurs in black water systems including small streams and ponds close to the streams and were collected along the margins where riparian vegetation was still present, especially among roots of buriti (Mauritia flexuosa). It was collected with the following species: arowana tetra Gnathocharax steindachneri; sailfin tetra Crenuchus spilurus; the tetras Bryconella pallidifrons, Hemigrammus melanochrous, H. schmardae, Hyphessobrycon agulha, Jupiaba abramoides, Moenkhausia collettii, M. comma, M. melogramma, M. mikia; the neon tetra Paracheirodon innesi; the freshwater hatchetfish Carnegiella strigata; the headstander Chilodus punctatus; the toothless characin Curimatopsis sp.; the wolf-fish Hoplias malabaricus; the pencil fish Nannostomus marginatus; the callichthyid armoured catfish Corydoras arcuatus; the three barbled catfish Pimelodella sp.; the loricariine armoured catfish Rineloricaria sp.; the saddled cichlid Aequidens tetramerus; the dwarf cichlid Apistogramma juruensis; the glass knifefish Eigenmannia sp.; the sand knifefish Gymnorhamphichthys rondoni; and the rivuline killifish Laimosemion sp. Most sampling localities that were visited in 2021 had signs of anthropogenic impacts such as degragation of the riparian vegetation and litter accumulation (e.g., bottles, plastic bags) (Ref. 128833).

Estimates based on models

Phylogenetic diversity index (Ref. 82804):  PD50 = No PD50 data   [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.00661 (0.00301 - 0.01449), b=3.11 (2.93 - 3.29), in cm total length, based on LWR estimates for this (Sub)family-body shape (Ref. 93245).
Trophic level (Ref. 69278):  3.1   ±0.5 se; based on size and trophs of closest relatives
Resilience (Ref. 120179):  High, minimum population doubling time less than 15 months (Preliminary K or Fecundity.).
Fishing Vulnerability (Ref. 59153):  Low vulnerability (10 of 100).
