This species is considered a valid species or possibly a synonym of Hemiculter lucidus (Dybowski, 1872) in Eschmeyer (CofF ver. May 2011: Ref. 86870) following Bogutskaya et al. (2008: Ref. 82587). Please send references, or more studies are needed.
