Ecology
Freshwater; benthopelagic; pH range: 5.3 - 5.7; dH range: 2 - 3. Tropical; 23°C - 26°C (Ref. 13371)
Asia: Mekong and Chao Phraya basins; Malay Peninsula, Borneo, Sumatra.
Size / Weight / Age
Maturity: Lm ?  range ? - ? cm
Max length : 12.0 cm SL male/unsexed; (Ref. 27732)
Dorsal soft rays (total): 8 - 9; Anal soft rays: 9 - 10; Vertebrae: 29 - 30. A dark grey midlateral stripe, more intense posteriorly, not extending onto the caudal fin; dorsal-fin origin closer to the eye than to the caudal-fin base; 3 scale rows between the lateral line and the midventral row; caudal fin usually with a black posterior margin (Ref. 27732).
Occurs in a variety of habitats, but seems to prefer large rivers with slow current (Ref. 27732). Common along shores in large rivers (Ref. 56749). Found at or near the surface in clear waters of rivers and streams. Generally prefers a depth of about 5 m. Feeds mainly on exogenous insects, some small crustaceans and algae (Ref. 12693).

50 = 0.5000 [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.00851 (0.00376 - 0.01926), b=3.07 (2.87 - 3.27), in cm total length, based on LWR estimates for this (Sub)family-body shape (Ref.
