Colouration: dark uniform dorsolateral stripe extending from posterior region of head to caudal-fin base; dark blotch of snout expanded posteriorly on top of head above frontals and nuchal plates; dorsal area of snout almost completely dark; pectoral and pelvic fins hyaline or dark, with many melanophores; anal and caudal fins hyaline and yellowish; dorsal fin often has melanophores concentrated on distal tips of first branched rays (Ref. 124585).
