Differs from Leptobotia posterodorsalis in having numerous white spots on body side (vs. no spot), more gill rakers 13-15 (vs . 3-4) on the outer side of first gill arch, body depth 4.9-6.9 % in SL (vs. 6.8-7.3), deep forked caudal, and more stripes 3-4 (vs. 1) on both lobes of caudal fin (Ref. 83654).
