Freshwater; benthopelagic; non-migratory. Tropical; 18°C - 22°C (Ref. 2060)
Africa: Louessé River, Bouenza River and Niari River in Republic of Congo (Ref. 3788, 116455). Reports from upper Nyanga river in southern Gabon and Republic of Congo (Ref. 3788) refer to Aphyosemion jeanhuberi (Ref. 116455).

Occurs in brooks and small streams in the rainforest and forested savanna of the inland plain (Ref. 3788). Not a seasonal killifish; easy to maintain in aquarium (Ref. 27139).
