Etymology: Pseudohomaloptera: Greek, pseudes = false + Greek, homalos = flat + Greek, pteron = wing, fin (Ref. 45335); batek: Named from the vernacular 'batek', a traditional Indonesian patterned cloth, made by hand painting. This is in reference to the unique beautiful body pattern, applied as a substantive in apposition (Ref. 81925).
