Dorsal soft rays (total): 12; Anal soft rays: 12; Vertebrae: 47. Branchiostegal rays 3. Supraorbital extending far behind to the middle of the orbit. Interorbital space narrower than the orbital diameter in specimens 8-12 cm SL. Canals of subcutaneous vascular system of the trunk forming anastomoses on the sides below the lateral line. Pyloric caeca 13-14 (Ref. 41239).
