Dorsal soft rays (total): 4 - 5; Vertebrae: 19. This species is distinguished by the following characters: D 4-5; pectoral-fin rays 14-15; disk is small and tail long; esca small, dorsal lobe with tongue-like structure and thin posterior flap; tubercles on edges of disk and lateral sides of tail are low and closely adjoining, forming thin, continuous, saw-toothed ridges; subopercular tubercle is poorly developed, with two short spinelets; eye diameter 24.9-27.0% SL; disk margin 34.4-38.2% SL; head width 17.3-22.7% SL; dorsal-fin length 14.5-15.1% SL; pectoral-fin length 18.0-20.4% SL; anal-fin length 14.1-15.1% SL; caudal-fin length 24.2-24.7% SL; lateral-line neuromasts: supraorbital series (SS) 3-6, preopercular series (POS) 2-3, subopercular series (SOS) 5, dorsolateral branch of subopercular series (DBSS) 3, tail series (TS) 8-11. Colouration; when preserved, light brown to creamy white, somewhat translucent with thin skin (Ref. 127411).
