Distinguished from other members of the genus by the following combination of characters: lateral line system ventromediolateral; pectoral fin rays 22-23; first dorsal fin pterygiophore associated with vertebra 3-5; preanal distance 43-46% SL; color brownish with 6-10 white bars or patches along the dorsal part of the body and dorsal fin; peritoneum black.
在組合特徵之後與本屬的其他成員區分了藉由: 側線系統 ventromediolateral; 胸鰭鰭條 22-23; 第一背鰭支鰭骨伴隨著脊椎骨 3-5了; 肛門前的距離 43-46% SL; 色彩褐色的 6-10條白色的橫帶或者區塊沿著身體與背鰭的背部部份; 腹膜黑色。
