Etymology: Schizothorax: Greek, schizein = to divide * Greek, thorax = breast (Ref. 45335).
Eponymy: Auguste Prenant (1861–1927) was a French physician and embryologist. The patronym is not identified in Tchang’s text, so could refer either to Auguste or to his son, parasitologist Marcel Prenant (1893–1983). (Ref. 128868), visit book page.
