Six to seven pectoral filaments below pectoral fin, the fifth filament from the ventralmost, longest, may extend beyond caudal fin. Body and head yellow, shaded with black dorsally; fins bright orange, pectoral filaments intense vermilion (Ref. 9685).
Adults inhabit muddy estuaries and lower part of rivers (Ref. 9685). One of the smallest members of the family Polynemidae (Ref. 57343).
