Inhabits a small creek in hilly terrain at an elevation of 450 m (Ref. 2847). An omnivore and egg laying species which is considered a peaceful community fish preferring the following aquarium conditions: pH=7.2, H=10, 26°C water temperature, rock, plant and driftwood cover (Ref. 6398).
