Oblique rows of scales on cheek 7; scales dorsally on head extending forward to midinterorbital space; no scales on maxilla nor ventrally on head. Posterior , margin of preopercle serrate, the ventral margin with 2 antrorse spines; subopercle and interopercle not serrate. Caudal fin slightly emarginate with prolonged upper lobe (Ref. 26833).
