Environment: milieu / climate zone / depth range / distribution range
Ecology
Freshwater; benthopelagic; depth range 0 - 1 m (Ref. 39226). Tropical; 26°C - 28°C (Ref. 2059)
Asia: Mekong (Ref. 26336), Chao Phraya and Mae Khlong basins in Thailand (Ref. 12041).
Size / Weight / Age
Maturity: Lm ?  range ? - ? cm
Max length : 6.0 cm TL male/unsexed; (Ref. 2059)
Dorsal soft rays (total): 12; Anal soft rays: 8. With unique color pattern consisting of a yellowish background with a black stripe along dorsal mid-line and one from tip of snout to caudal fin base through eye and along lateral line; 1 (-3) small vertically elongated spots over lateral stripe; in life, the spots are surrounded by a whitish area (Ref. 39226).
Inhabits streams with moderate to strong current over sandy or pebble substrate. Feeds on may-flies. Observed to form small troops of up to 20 individuals above the substrate around large rocks. This is in contrast with most of the nemacheilines which live solitary under stones. A female measuring 4.16 cm SL with distended belly and ripe ovulae, about 0.7 mm in diameter (Ref. 39226).
