Dorsal soft rays (total): 11; Anal soft rays: 7. Diagnosed from other Southeast Asian species of Crossocheilus by the following
combination of characters: one pair of rostral barbels, maxillary barbels absent; midlateral stripe with edges not sharply contrasted, slightly curved downward, obscured in largest individuals, continued on median caudal-fin rays, reaching posterior margin; black mark between anus and anal fin absent; mouth width 30-36 % HL; and size reaches up to at least 14 cm SL (Ref. 81211).
