Etymology: Creteuchiloglanis: Name formed from the Latin prefix cret-, meaning to separate/distinguish, in combination with the generic name Euchiloglanis, alluding to features shared with, as well as distinguishing from, Euchiloglanis and Pareuchiloglanis.; arunachalensis: Named for the Arunachal Pradesh State, an adjective (Ref. 96853).

Inhabits various substrata such as gravel, cobbles or medium to large boulders, and green algae on substratum, in low to moderately deep (40-80 cm) running water. Habitat is characterized by cool, clear and moderate to swift running water. River bank is composed of bamboo and other trees, without aquatic vegetation. running water moderate to swift, cool and clear (Ref. 96853).
