Western Central Atlantic: Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea. One record from Hudson Canyon.
Size / Weight / Age
Maturity: Lm ?  range ? - ? cm
Max length : 25.0 cm TL male/unsexed; (Ref. 1371)
Dorsal spines (total): 0; Anal spines: 0. Snout short, blunt; eyes large, its diameter greater than snout length. Pyloric caeca about 9, short, stumpy (Ref. 1371). Band of small pointed teeth in the premaxilla and dentary. Head fully scaled except for underside of snout, gular and branchiostegal membranes.
