Dorsal spines (total): 3; Dorsal soft rays (total): 7; Anal spines: 3; Anal soft rays: 5. This species can be diagnosed from all congeners by having the following combination of characters: two stripe above lateral line, exceeding posteriorly the length of pectoral fins, and then scattered cloudly speckles between dorsal blotches and latera spots; 10-13 elongated oval blotches along midlateral line of body; one distintict black elongated or semicircular spot at the base of the caudal fin; slender and long needle-shaped lamina circularis in males; scales slightly elongated, with small focal area; caudal pedunce depth 1.1-1.2 (mean 1.1) times of its length in females and 1.1 in males; 4+37-38+1 vertebrae (Ref. 95089).
