Eyes are vesicular, with an additional lens directed anteriorly; ventral fins are at the beginning of the last one third of the body, noticeably in front of the vertical of dorsal fin origin; anal opening and anal fin origin are behind the vertical of the end of dorsal fin; adipose fin is present and located near the vertical of the end of the anal fin; myomeres number 77–82; fry have 4–5 pigmental spots on the back and 3–4 paired peritoneal spots; pigmental spots present near upper margin of gill opening, at insertions of ventral fins near the end of the intestine, above the anal fin insertion, and under the adipose fin; gill rakers number 29–34.
