Ecology
Freshwater; brackish; benthopelagic; non-migratory; depth range 20 - 300 m. Boreal; 4°C - 20°C (Ref. 2059); 55°N - 50°N
Asia: Endemic to Lake Baikal and its tributaries. Occurs virtually in all regions of the open part of Lake Baikal. Also found in the Angara (as far as the mouth) and in the Irkut; enters the estuaries of the rivers falling into Baikal.
