More on author: Fowler.
Environment: milieu / climate zone / depth range / distribution range
Ecology
Freshwater; benthopelagic; dH range: ? - 15. Tropical; 15°C - 24°C (Ref. 13614)
Asia: Chao Phraya basin in Thailand.
Size / Weight / Age
Maturity: Lm ?  range ? - ? cm
Max length : 8.8 cm SL male/unsexed; (Ref. 39226)
Dorsal soft rays (total): 12; Anal soft rays: 8. A member of the group of species with complete or nearly complete lateral line, 8 1/2 branched dorsal rays, 9+8 branched caudal rays and no sexual dimorphism. Can be distinguished by the following characters: 7-10 bars on body, the anterior ones conspicuously wider than the posterior ones; maximum head width 13.2-18.2% SL; eye diameter 2.7-6.8% SL, 13-31% HL; interorbital width 5.0-6.8% SL, 25-31% HL. Its slender caudal peduncle (1.25-1.53 times longer than deep; length 14.4-17.7% SL; depth 10.2-13.9% SL) and its peculiar color pattern with posterior bars usually forming large round blotches along lateral line allow to distinguish it from its Indochinese congeners (Ref. 39226).
A 7.17 cm SL specimen has unidentifiable vegetal remains in its stomach (Ref. 39226).
