Identification keys | Morphology | Morphometrics
Dorsal soft rays (total): 11; Anal soft rays: 7 - 8. This species is distinguished from Lepidocephalus spectrum by having eyes and dark pigment on the body and by the lack of tubules on the lateral line and large papillae on the lips; from L. pahangensis by having scales on top of the head and by the lack of large papillae on the lips; from L. pallens by having the dorsal-fin origin well behind (vs. over) the pelvic-fin origin (predorsal length 68.1-71.3 vs. 59.9% SL); and from L. macrochir by having a longer snout (5.6-7.4 vs. 3.9-5.1% SL; 28.6-38.1 vs. 23.3-27.1% HL) (Ref. 95334).
This species seems to prefer large rivers (Ref. 95334).
