Dorsal spines (total): 0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 12 - 15; Anal spines: 0; Anal soft rays: 15 - 19; Vertebrae: 33 - 36. 10-13 AO photophores; 7.5-8 tooth patches on the lower limb of the second gill arch; 32-34 lateral line organs (Ref. 36121). Pectoral fin rays pointing directly downward in larger specimens; rays progressively thicker, stiffer, and relatively shorter in larger specimens but remnants always visible externally, apparently not covered with skin even in specimens 9-10 cm SL in length (Ref. 36121).
