Dorsal soft rays (total): 4 - 6. This species is distinguished by the following characters: rostrum consists of five enlarged tubercles, including trifid tubercle at the tip flanked by two pairs of bifurcate tubercles on anterior edge of rostrum; tubercles on dorsal surface is simple, with 5-6 facets; simple tubercles on ventral surface; dorsal lobe of esca is very low, with a pair of cirri in front and pair of flaps in back; tubercles on tail are all simple (Ref. 127411).
