Marine; bathydemersal; depth range 55 - 1500 m (Ref. 31160). Deep-water
South Pacific: off Chile, southern Australia, and New Zealand. Southeast Atlantic: off Argentina. Also recorded from the channel between Marion and Prince Edward islands in the Indian Ocean sector of the Antarctic.

Inhabits continental and insular slopes (Ref. 5208), as well as seamounts (Ref. 31160). Minimum depth reported from Ref. 5208.
