ملاحظة : Tropical Indian and Pacific Oceans. Body translucent, without coloration. Pelvic fins jugular. No pharyngeal sacs. Dorsal fin with the anterior portion having 10-12 short spines and 22-27 longer soft rays posteriorly. Anal fin lacking spines; soft rays 28-32. Pectoral fin rays 17-19. With 45-47 vertebrae. Known only from larvae and juveniles, largest specimen only 12 cm SL. Suggested new common name for this family from Ref. 58418. Family name in Japanese = Tokonatsu-ibodai ka (Ref. 88878).
Etymology : Greek, a = without + Greek, marsipos = bag
