Entire body covered with simple, very small, and thickly distributed tubercles Cephalic lateral-line counts: subopercular usually 6, (5-7); preopercular, 3 (1-4). Tail lateral-line counts 9-15. Subopercular spines small, inconspicuous. Paired fins with tubercles covering pedicels and occurring along both dorsal and ventral surfaces of fin rays. Slender fins relatively week (Ref. 40826).
