This species which is similar to C. alburzensis can be distinguished by having a shorter prepelvic length 53-56% SL (vs. 56-61), a longer snout 31-39% HL (vs. 24-29), a shorter barbel 10-12% HL (vs. 18-22), transverse mouth (vs. straight), with last unbranched ray weakly ossified and short serrae (vs. more ossified and larger serrated), with origin of scales with dark spot (vs. absence of spot on scales) (cited in Ref. 124648).
