Biology     Glossary (e.g. epibenthic)

Collected by beam trawl, on red algae beds in the circalittoral coarse sand bottoms from around 50 m to almost 80 m depth. There are mainly two type habitats: the Peyssonnelia beds, mainly located in the south west of Mallorca and south Menorca, and the maërl beds, mainly located in the Menorca Channel area. Visible from radiographed stomachs of specimens were uncrushed molluscs (bivalves and snails) (Ref. 114858).

Estimates based on models

Phylogenetic diversity index (Ref. 82804):  PD50 = 0.5625   [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.00724 (0.00338 - 0.01553), b=3.05 (2.87 - 3.23), in cm total length, based on LWR estimates for this (Sub)family-body shape (Ref. 93245).
Trophic level (Ref. 69278):  3.1   ±0.4 se; based on size and trophs of closest relatives
Resilience (Ref. 120179):  High, minimum population doubling time less than 15 months (Preliminary K or Fecundity.).
Fishing Vulnerability (Ref. 59153):  Low vulnerability (10 of 100).
