Issue
Amphilius nigricaudatus is a valid species based on Ref. 81646 and comprises the populations of A. brevis s.l. outside the Congo basin (T. Musschoot, pers. comm.).
Environment: milieu / climate zone / depth range / distribution range
Ecology
Freshwater; demersal. Tropical; 3°N - 10°S
Africa: middle and upper Congo River basin in Democratic Republic of the Congo (Ref. 41580, 41590, 41591, 106245, 106290). Reports from Loeme, Kouilou-Niari and Ogowe represent the revalidated Amphilius nigricaudatus (Ref. 81646). Identification of Chiloango and (marine) lower Congo specimens (Ref. 41590) is unclear (see also Ref. 81646).

50 = 0.5000 [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.01000 (0.00244 - 0.04107), b=3.04 (2.81 - 3.27), in cm total length, based on all LWR estimates for this body shape (Ref.
